(March 13th, 2026) New York, NY – Depop, the global peer-to-peer fashion marketplace, has announced Gabriella Karefa-Johnson – fashion trailblazer, stylist and creator of top-performing Substack, “Brain Matter” – as its official Trends Spokesperson for 2026.
Gabriella Karefa-Johnson, the first Black woman to style a Vogue cover in 2021, has since become a once-in-a-generation, defining voice in global fashion, lending her distinct perspective to her robust audience, styling, editorial and more.
Depop is excited to have Karefa-Johnson join the team as its official Trends Spokesperson, where she’ll bring her years of experience to the platform to lend her expertise across emerging trends and the defining cultural role that circular fashion plays.
“Depop operates like a living fashion archive and has always been a space where personal style, culture, and community intersect,” says Gabriella Karefa-Johnson. “It shows how fashion moves when it is freed from seasons, runways, and newness for its own sake, and I’m excited to step into this role as Trends Spokesperson to help frame where personal style drives the trend cycle forward.”
As part of her role, Karefa-Johnson will collaborate with the team on identifying and predicting emerging trends through qualitative & quantitative Depop data and cultural moments before it hits the masses. She’ll speak to these trends on behalf of Depop, keeping a close pulse on what Depop users are searching for and social chatter to redefine how circular fashion folds into the overarching industry.
“We are thrilled to welcome Gabriella Karefa‑Johnson as Depop’s 2026 Trends Spokesperson. Her visionary voice and deep understanding of culture, fashion and community perfectly reflect the core of Depop, ”says Steve Dool, Senior Director of Brand and Creative. “Gabriella’s perspective will help inspire our community to explore fresh trends in a way that feels authentic, empowering and fun.”
